Premise Foam Kill Termites

Premise Foam Termite TreatmentPremise Foam is a ready-to-use and do-it-yourself pest control product that is easily applied to infested areas for spot treatment. The active ingredient is Imidacloprid, which actually kills the termites, opposed to just repelling them as many other methods tend to do. This type of  termite control is not intended to be your only method of eradication. For best results when using this chemical foam, use it in addition to a soil-applied termiticide, or a bait system intended as the primary control method. This chemical foam can be used in commercial and residential structures.

Application locations include but are not limited to the following:

• Exposed wooden elements in or around crawl spaces, attics, and basements.
• Exterior wooden elements in decks, fencing, or siding.
• Channels in damaged wood.
• Spaces between wood elements and a structure.
• Junctions between foundations and wood.

It is best to have a professional look over the structure and infested areas, in doing so he should be able to conclude the exact type of pest that is a problem. You should know the exact type prior to purchasing any kind of bait, foam, or repellant. Premise Foam kills the subterranean type. If you have the dry wood species you should consult with an exterminator for ways to effectively treat your home, as both types need active ingredients to be effective.

To use Premise Foam, simply apply directly from the bottle into cracks and spaces around wooden elements where infestation is most common. After it is applied, the foam expands reaching into hidden, unreachable, and difficult to treat areas. They will continue their normal activity for a few days unaffected, then, unexpectedly to them, death occurs. During the few days that they seem unaffected, it is spreading the chemical to unexposed pests within the colony via contact when feeding and grooming one another. Spreading the termiticide causes a chain reaction, killing termites entire colonies. The active ingredient, Imidacloprid is the most commonly used insecticide in the world, and is proven to be an effective method of control against insects.

They feed primarily on wood, however they are also know to consume other sources of dead plant material such as leaf litter, soil, or animal dung. They are capable of causing serious structural damage to buildings and residential homes. This troublesome insect lives in colonies, which at maturity will have several hundred up to several million of these pests. Unlike ants, each of these colonies can have several egg laying queens. These colonies are the reason you should use Premise Foam instead of a deterrent.

Termite barriers and baits work on the subterranean variety, and one of the most effective barriers you can use is Premise Foam. Barriers can also be physical, such as metal shields or plastic sheeting. The dry wood variety is most often treated with fumigation, which often takes a few days to be fully effective. If you wind up needing a fumigation treatment it is not safe to be in the building during the fumigation. If you live in an area prone to infestations, you should have an inspection done once a year by a professional.
