Pharaoh Ants are very small; light yellow to red, with dark markings on their abdomen. They can grow to about 1/16 of an inch long. They grow from an egg to adult in about 45 days. The females live as long as 39 weeks and can lay about 400 eggs, while workers only live up to 10 weeks. Pharaoh ants can be found in a diversity of places and can appear very suddenly. They have a wide range of foraging and their nests are usually well hidden. They are very persistent and have large colonies. The use of residual sprays or dusts will cause stress on the colonies, which will make them split into sub-colonies that scatter to other areas in the structure. This can also be called budding. After spraying, your problem can be worse than before. When you bait, you want the slow kill affect. Quick kill insecticides and ant baits will only kill the foraging ants that are out working, not allowing the foraging ants to take the bait back home to feed the queen, nest workers and brood. Choosing bait would require knowing what they are currently feeding off of, according to the nutritional needs of the colony. To be sure that you have all the baiting needs met, you may want to be ready with sugar-carbohydrate bait, grease-fat bait, and a protein based bait. Remove any other food competition when baiting and leave the bait alone once the ants start feeding off of it. Inside they are usually found in the kitchen and bathrooms, but workers are seen trailing along windowsills, and baseboards. They can also be spotted near sources of water in the kitchen and bathrooms, counter tops, toilets, drains and sinks. They prefer to nest in recessed areas like wall void, under some appliance, wall outlets, under carpet for protection.
In order to eliminate an entire colony, baiting is highly recommended. DuPont Advion Gel is a Redwood Chemical favorite and a highly recommended product for most types of ants. Make sure that your hands are clean and free of soap and chemical odors when using bait. ADVION ant gel can be used indoors or outdoors applied as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in single and multifamily residential homes, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities (including schools, warehouses, apartments, supermarkets, restaurants, motels, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, offices, zoos, retail establishments, food handling/storage establishments), transportation equipment such as aircraft, trains, ships, boats, and buses, and other similar sites where ant infestations are a problem. Avoid applying ADVION ant gel to surfaces recently treated with residual sprays. Surfaces treated with ADVION ant gel should not be treated with residual sprays. Applications should be inspected periodically for consumption/ activity and additional bait applied as needed. Do not apply to surfaces that food contacts. Do not allow open foods to contact gel material.

Phantom is an indoor/outdoor termiticide and insecticide that kills termites, ants, cockroaches and more through a powerful non-repellent active ingredient. Pests can't even detect Phantom, so they walk right over it and then spread it to other insects hidden behind walls or in their home colony, killing every other pest they come in contact with. Phantom is virtually odorless, clear in color and provides superior pest control with a long-lasting residual.
Please refer to and follow the directions on the Phantom Termiticide / Insecticide product label.
