Mice Problem?

The signs of a mice problem are often quite easy to spot.  You see tiny footprints in some spilled flour in the pantry.  You hear some scampering feet on their way outside as you walk into your basement from upstairs. Maybe you saw the cat chase a mouse across the kitchen floor.  Whatever the signs of your mice problem, don’t ignore them.  They breed quickly and what might have been a simple rodent control problem can quickly become a major headache.

If you have a mice problem, there are several different ways you should approach the problem. The first thing to do is clear out any overgrown areas and debris near your home. If your house is in need of any repairs including holes or gaps on the outside, then now is the time to take care of that.  Even some sort of spray foam might be able to tackle the problem temporarily, and at least get you a little bit of reprieve.

Getting the house as impenetrable as possible is only one part of the entire rodent control plan.  There are still likely to be a number of entrance points that you can’t find, since mice can get through extremely small spaces.  Even if you were able to get every possible access point closed off, there’s still always the possibility of them coming in through open doors and garages.  The best solution for prevention is getting your home as sealed up as possible, and then laying out either mouse traps, or bait stations. Make sure you use either of these with great care. You don’t want any unintended pet or person to be harmed in any way.

Maybe your issue is something having to do with food.  If you find evidence in your pantry or cupboards, you need to purchase some food storage containers. A plastic container with a tight fitting lid will do the trick.  Maybe you need to look around and make sure that the cleanliness standards are where they should be. Do people in your family leave out food and wrappers when they’re done, instead of quickly getting things to the sink and the trash can?  This would definitely encourage the presence of rodents in your kitchen. To thoroughly get rid of your mice problem, search your online pest control store to purchase whichever method of rodent control suits your needs and place it in the path of the mice to ensure a successful eradication.

When you start your online search you will see that there are several various types of control to choose from. You will need to consider several things prior to deciding on the right way to rid your home of these pests.  More specifically, you’ll need to decide if you’ll be treating your mice problem with poisons or traps, and then pick from the available options, while taking into consideration the others in your home. If you have small children and animals you will need to make sure the method you choose can be used safely out of their reach.  There are glue traps, locking bait stations, poisons and conventional traps that are widely available at your favorite online pest control store, just do a bit of research and find that one that will work for you. Regardless of your pest control problem, the experts at a do it yourself pest control store will be happy to help you with everything from roach control to termite control.
